Hunter Education / Safety Courses

These courses teach safe firearms handling in the outdoors, ethics, wildlife laws, first aid, and more — often required to obtain a hunting license in many states.

South Carolina Hunter-Ed.com (SC Online Course) Required for residents and nonresidents born after June 30, 1979.  South Carolina also offers internet / online versions via SCDNR.
North Carolina NC Wildlife Resources Commission – Hunter Education Free instructor-led and online courses across all 100 counties.  Also, Hunter-Ed.com NC course provides the online route.  And HUNTERcourse.com NC is another state-approved provider.
Georgia Georgia DNR Hunter Education Required for those born on or after Jan 1, 1961. Georgia approves online & in-person courses.  One provider: HunterEdCourse.com (GA)

What these courses cover (common topics):

• Firearm safety principles & handling
• Wildlife identification, conservation, ethics
• State hunting laws & regulations
• First aid, survival, tree stand safety
• Use of firearms in hunting contexts
• In some cases, testing or field day practical sessions

Why take them?
